Our Team
The origins of Illumina SciCom stem from two scientists who met at the University of Texas at Austin where they were pursuing research on infectious microbes and how they cause disease. They both became faculty members at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston, world renowned for research in infectious diseases and emerging tropical diseases. Combined, they have more than 75 years of experience in scientific research. They have led funded research laboratories, mentored graduate students and postdoctoral fellows and guided academic departments. As Deans in the Graduate School of Biomedical Science, they are experienced in the full breadth of biomedical research. Catherine May Fulton has extensive experience in scientific writing and editing and is the backboard ensuring that we keep stories understandable to a broad group of people like you.
